June Hong Kong Jewellery & Watch Fair
Celebrating the occasion of its 21st edition, the June Hong Kong Jewellery & Watch Fair was bigger and better. This year, the Fair again attracted a large number of international jewellers by providing an all-in-one trading platform to source, to share experiences and to update their market intelligence.
The four-day premier jewellery event reached its largest scale to date in numbers of both exhibitors and exhibiting spaces, showcasing arrays of fabulous jewellery items with a series of fascinating highlights:
- The number of trade visitors to the Fair recorded was 16,914 from 102 countries and regions.
- A record-breaking number of exhibitors – 1,290 from 33 countries and regions – joined the show, a 10 percent increase compared with the preceding year, proving that the Fair continues to be the largest international mid-year jewellery event in Asia.
- A new record was set of 40,000 square metres of exhibition space with more than 2,300 booths, comprising Halls 1, 2 & 3, Mezzanines 1 & 2, the Expo Drive Hall and the Grand Hall, and once again provided international jewellery buyers with a wider range of choices in a single venue.
- Nine group pavilions represented Antwerp, mainland China, Italy, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, United States and, for the first time, Singapore.
- There were seven themed pavilions. In addition to the famous Jadeite Gallery and Diamonds Pavilion, other pavilion themes were fine jewellery, pearls, gemstones, silver jewellery and packaging and technology.

In addition, the Fair has become the world' s most internationalised fair in terms of visitors' nationality profile. 37,276 buyers from 133 countries and regions visited the September Fair in 2008.
The September Fair grows each year. In response to overwhelming demand from the industry and to make best use of the new exhibition space to create more business opportunities, starting from 2009, a clear product sectorisation will be implemented between AsiaWorld-Expo and Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre. The new strategy will apply to ALL exhibitors, aimed at concentrating similar categories of products in the same venue so as to enable buyers to locate the products they seek efficiently, while exhibitors can meet their target buyers intensively.
